Not with a Bang, But a Wimper

Well, maybe this isn't the end of this blog, but it sure has seemed slooooooooow (for the record, I hate repeating vowels to make some kind of emphasis. The word should be 'slow' ...I'm a moron). 2007, the year I tried to blog but everything came out stupid.

This may be partly attributable to the constant sharp pain stretching from my elbow to my knuckles on my right hand. I'm guessing an RSI of some sort. It hurts all the time, no matter what I do. Any suggestions? (Beside the obvious: go see my doctor).

There is hope for you, it is still early yet. Have you been checked out for carpal tunnel by any chance. The only advice I can give you is put ice on it, and take some Aleve, which you can get over the counter. It is wonderful stuff. Anymore I live on it. Hope this advice helps.

If the Aleve and ice don't seem to do the trick... I can suggest a tonic to help ease the pain...

That is to say, tonic water with a liberal amount of Bombay Sapphire added to the mix.

If it is carpal tunnel you can invest in a good wrist wrap/brace that will imobilize your wrist and keep you from turning it. Where it all the time (even while sleeping) for a couple of weeks and see if it doesn't improve any.

I have no medical advice besides the obvious. But I do have a question. What's the other part attributable to?

don't forget the lime in that bombay sapphire and tonic mix!!! tho I'd prefer a hendrick's, tonic, and cucumber. Yes, cucumber. It's SOOO yummy. I apologize for the repeated vowel, it is necessary for the Hendrick's.

Please don't stop the writing, I enjoy reading your blog. Mine is also rather sporadic, but I'm not going to give up yet...at least until I'm done with my state conference presentation of web 2.0 technologies. ;-)

Michael, you're new 'round these parts so I'll clue you in: I am way too narcissistic to stop blogging as long as I have even one reader. Call it a chronic case of pontification, but I'll ramble to any crowd.

I'll keep all of y'all's suggestions in mind (I believe they boil down to drugs and alcohol, except Lisa, who of course would send me to a doctor! At least one person out there has sense...)

Ahhhh, narcissism, the spice of life. Those people who are natural audience members need someone to watch, right? That's my excuse anyway.

We figure why send you to a Doctor you'll either go or you wont. If is starts bothering you long enough I figure you'll finally give in!

Hm, nice to have those of the non-medical sort giving you advice... I personally dislike going to the doctor, so I understand the want to ignore the problem or to find another source of relief, but sometimes you just have to give in...

Personally, I'm an advocate of chiropractors for stuff like that. Putting everything back where it belongs is ultimately better than killing the pain with drugs. And they might perscribe you a wrist brace or something too.
